While economic trends traditionally see southern talent migrating to the industrialized North, Alfa Sistemi is flipping the script. The group has chosen Sicily as a strategic base to consolidate its national tech footprint, betting heavily on the region’s untapped potential.
The opening reflects a precise corporate philosophy centered on employee well-being and territorial proximity. Ferruccio Meroi, a key leadership figure at Alfa Sistemi, emphasized the revolutionary nature of this expansion:
"We realized that instead of forcing young, talented professionals from the South to relocate to the North, it made more sense for us to move to them," stated Meroi. "This approach allows us to value local excellence at its source, while simultaneously establishing a physical presence in new geographic areas and acquiring new clients. We are bringing Alfa Sistemi’s innovation directly to where the talent is born."
A Strong Foundation Built on Academic Excellence
The new Messina office is already fully operational, powered by a solid and dynamic core team of six tech professionals—all proud alumni of the University of Messina. These individuals bring fresh, high-level skills and the distinct enthusiasm typical of the region’s top graduates.
Alfa Sistemi’s long-term goal is to transform the Sicilian subsidiary into a hub of digital excellence capable of supporting the group's major national and international projects. This initiative offers premium career paths locally, eliminating the forced choice of migration for Southern Italy's brightest minds.
The "Ambassador" Leading the Way
At the helm of this new Sicilian venture is Ivan Melluso, an enterprising young Sicilian manager and the driving force behind the operation. Melluso, who previously managed high-profile projects at Alfa Sistemi’s Rome office, acted as a true ambassador for his home region, passionately advocating for the investment.
"Ivan believed in Messina’s potential from day one," commented Alfa Sistemi’s executive board. "His vision was the spark that convinced the group to invest in Sicily." Thanks to this project, Melluso returns to the island not just as a manager, but as the leader of a model that proves how experience gained in major metropolitan hubs can be successfully reinvested back home.
The Messina opening marks the first milestone in a broader, ambitious expansion plan that aims to bring Alfa Sistemi closer to Southern Italy's leading research and academic centers. In an era where decentralization is becoming a core competitive asset, the new Sicilian subsidiary stands as a blueprint for the future: a place where technology moves fast, but remains deeply rooted in the territory.

A major new milestone has been reached in Alfa Sistemi's growth path. The IT consulting and system integration company, a benchmark for the industrial sector and ERP systems, announces that it has joined Lynx Group—an Italian company specializing in the design and implementation of digital solutions—which has acquired a 66.2% stake in the company.
The transaction is driven by a clear industrial logic and aims to enhance Alfa Sistemi’s value proposition while expanding its target market. Strategic and managerial continuity will be fully guaranteed: founder Ferruccio Meroi and his daughter Federica Meroi will remain firmly at the helm of the company as Chairman and CEO, respectively, retaining a minority stake alongside the top management team.
Founded in Friuli-Venezia Giulia in 1995, Alfa Sistemi has successfully combined deep local roots with a strong global expansion, which also led to the opening of an office in Bangkok. With a team of over 190 professionals, the company closed 2025 with a turnover of €18.5 million.
For over thirty years, Alfa Sistemi has been supporting companies through their digital transformation journeys: from the implementation of enterprise-class ERP systems (thanks to long-standing partnerships with market leaders such as Oracle and SAP) and system integration, to the development of cutting-edge proprietary solutions, including IoT platforms for industrial data analysis.
The integration into Lynx Group will allow Alfa Sistemi to expand and evolve its offering, introducing advanced Digital and Artificial Intelligence solutions to its client base. At the same time, Alfa Sistemi will make its distinctive process and business expertise in the ERP world available to Lynx's clients.
"Joining a larger group like Lynx represents a strategic growth opportunity for us," declared Ferruccio Meroi, founder of Alfa Sistemi. "This operation is built not only on a shared business strategy but also on a deep alignment of values and corporate vision. We are confident that this partnership will allow us to further expand our market and accelerate our development, with the clear objective of doubling our revenues over the next three years."
"We chose Alfa Sistemi to further strengthen our growth in the industrial sector," commented Matteo Moretti, CEO of Lynx Group. "Their expertise in the ERP space and on strategic market platforms is a key element in accelerating our journey. The goal is to leverage our respective, complementary skills."
The transaction contributes significantly to the Industrial Plan of Lynx—a Digital Enabler that closed 2025 with €165 million in revenues and €41 million in EBITDA, and aims to exceed €200 million in revenues by 2026.
In connection with the transaction, Alfa Sistemi was advised by ADVANT Nctm as legal counsel. Lynx Group was advised by DLA Piper and KPMG.
