Milan, April 24, 2026 – Orsero S.p.A. (Euronext STAR Milan), a leader in the Mediterranean Europe for the import and distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables, announces that its subsidiary Simba S.p.A. has been designated by the Groupement des Exportateurs de Litchis (GEL) to manage the export campaign for Madagascar lychees.
Through this contract, Orsero Group becomes one of only two exclusive operators authorized for the import and distribution of Madagascar lychees across Europe. This strategic appointment places a particular focus on the French market, the leading consumer of the fruit in the region.
Madagascar is the world’s third-largest producer of lychees and the top exporter to Europe. The European market serves as the primary destination for this produce, with approximately 15,000 tons marketed between December and January to meet the peak demand during the year-end holiday season.
